Strangely there exists no real proof for that Mohammad ever existed, and there are people who think he is made up by leaders in f.x. Bagdad, who nedded a central figur in a new religion. But very likely he was a real person. In that case he was born around 570 AD. He was born into a respected, but far from rich family.
He became a camel driver, but some 25 years old he married his boss, 40 years old Khadija - a rich, 2 times widow. Islam insists - without proving it - that it was a marriage of love. But for one thing Mohammad went from being rather poor, to quite rich. For another he did not wait for a long time after she died, before he remarried. Google tells that Khadija died in November 619 AD, and he married Sawdah the same year = just weeks later. We have found no proof for strong sorrow from Mohammad after Khadija's death.
In 610 AD things started to happen: He one day returned home from a cave outside Mecca, telling he had been contacted by an angel, later claimed to be Gabriel - an angel known from the Bible. Modern medical science suspects that he had got temporal lobe epilepsy, a kind of epilepsy it is known can give religious illutions similar to the "experiences" Mohammad claimed.
In short he claimed to be contacted by the polytheist Arab moon god al-Lah. But he claimed that al-Lah - also abreviated to Allah - was an only god, and that he was the same god as the Jewish/Christian god Yahveh.
Anybody who reads both the Bible and the Quran, see that this is not true. The difference between Yahweh's - especially as you meet him in NT - and Allah's ideologies and moral codes by far are too different. The Quran and Islam claim, without any proofs like normal, or explaining when and how it was done - Bibles after all existed by the thousands, spread over large parts of 3 continents - that the reason is that the Bible is falsified through and through. But science knows 13ooo manuscripts or fragments from the Bible + 32ooo quotes from or references to the Bible + at least 5ooo Biblical decorations, pieces of art, etc. = at least 50ooo points, all older than 610 AD (when Mohammad started preaching). They are in accordance with the present Bible = it is not true that the Bible was or is falsified. A lie simply, and a most central lie in Islam.
We may add that science knows at least 100ooo texts, fragments, illustrations, etc. from religions all over the world, all older than 610 AD. NOT ONE OF THEM IS RELEVANT TO THE QURAN OR ISLAM = IT IS NOT TRUE THAT THE QURAN OR ISLAM IS OLDER THAN 610 AD AND MOHAMMED. One more obvious lie - also this a central lie in Islam.
Mohammad got few followers and many opponents in Mecca. In 622 AD he had perhaps 100 followers, but the opposition was so strong that he had to flee - to Yatrib some 340 km further north. A town later renamed Medina.
In Medina he started as a robber baron, attacking and robbing caravans. And suddenly he started to get followers. Islam claims the only reason was the attraction of Islam, but big money is as attractive as a suspect religion to poor people. (A robbed caravan might correspont to a million dollars or more today).
In 630 AD he went against Mecca, and with so many warriors that Mecca gave in without a fight. Mohammad did not treat the town too badly, but he had at least one enemy murdered inside the temple Kabah (originally built by a Yemenite king, Asad abu Karb, or Karb abu Asad, ca. 300 AD, not by Abraham some 2ooo BC. Yet another central lie in the Quran and Islam.)
He died quite suddenly in 632 AD. There were speculations about poison, but one does not know if that was the case. (But the very speculation may indicate he was not so unifomly loved as Islam claims.)
A point never mentioned by Muslims: Mohammad was infertile - a negative fact during times when many children were a reason for high status, and their names added to their father's name. F.x. "Naman, father of Asim". That many women and that active a sex life - only 1 child, Ibrahim (Arab for Abraham) he some 60 years old got with his sex slave Mariya in 630 AD? Perhaps Mohammad for once was "lucky". Or perhaps a young slave girl did not think an old man, 3 times her age, was her Prince Charming, and "visitted" someone more attractive during dark nights?
Ibrahim, Mohammad's claimed child, and his in case only child, died before he was 2 years old. Was Mohammad no friend of a god?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Islam describes Mohammad like a saint in everything but the name: Never sinning, never dishonest, always goodhearted and kind, etc. They need such a picture. Especially the claim that he was totally honest they need, because Islam is built ONLY on his words and deeds. Not one single religious claim in the Quran was ever proved, and if Mohammad was not 100% reliable, the bottom under Islam disappears.
But it takes something to be able to believe that a man behind a war, dishonesty and lawful cheating teaching, and a teaching full of errors no god would make + at least a few lies no god would need, but claiming it to be from a god, never was tempted to "adjust" facts a little.
What at least is sure: Mohammad likely is the person in history and prehistory who has caused most human misery - including semi slavery for the women - and death. As for deaths, Islam till now has caused some 270 million - adding some ten-thousands a year. Poor Hitler only managerd 30-40 million (the other deads during WW2 were from the war against Japan.) In addition there is the misery to humans and animals (f.x. the way of slaughtering).
Worse: If the Quran is a fake: If there somewhere is a real god with a Heaven and a Hell, a god Muslims dismiss in distaste and haughtyness, Mohammad has sent some billions Muslims to Hell.
